Tissue Acquisition and Repository for Gastrointestinal and Hepatic Systems (TARGHETS)

Completion of the proposed studies will correlate the specific genes, proteins, nucleic acids or bacterial species with gastrointestinal, pancreato-biliary and hepatology disorders, including but not limited to cancer.  A secondary point will be to determine whether specific biomarkers found in bodily fluids or tissue predict qualitative and quantitative changes in metabolic pathways.

Inclusion criteria: 

  • Adults 18 years of age or older undergoing an endoscopy and/or procedure associated with GI (gastro-intestinal) tract and able to provide consent for the procedure and sample collection at The University of Arizona Cancer Center, Banner University Medical Center 

Exclusion criteria:

  • prisoners
  • patient unable to consent
  • age under 18 years
